What happens to fuel tax when all the cars are electric?
Where does money come from and go to at the moment?
There are lots of income streams for transport, both in and out, capital and revenue, private and public, national and local. Then there's company cars and what about VAT? Could we organise things better?




Why do we have Air Passenger Duty?
Taxes across aviation are complex from international fuelling agreements and duty free. Air Passenger Duty was created as a compromise to tax aviation fairly. But does it work? And what about ideas for frequent flyer levies?
Creative choices
Planning travel better and offering more attractive sustainable choices from commuting to going to a football match have proved innovative and sometimes fun. But sometimes combining a travel ticket with something else creates a tax liability that wasn't originally intended. Could we sort these out?
Fuel taxes are £30-35billion income a year. As we move to electric vehicles this will fall away - it's already an issue. What can be done? This is not to be confused with proposals for Congestion Charging which have proved so controversial.
